About Me

Hello, and here's the cliché "Welcome to my blog!" ;)

Oh, you actually would like to know a little about me? Well, this is awkward...you see, I am no good at writing introductions.  But since you asked, I will give it a try. :)

My name is Christine, although when I was little I always went by Chrissie and my family still refers to me as thus, although for my sake they try to call me Christine when speaking to others.
I just turned 16 years old in May of this year. I currently attend a private school (basically a school for homeschoolers) two days a week, and just completed my sophomore year. My favorite class this past year was Great Books, where we read classics, discussed them, wrote papers and did projects on them.
I have six siblings; three older sisters, and three younger brothers. As two of my sisters are grown and no longer at home, I also have 9 nieces and nephews.
Although I am currently unsure exactly what I wish to do in that mystical period after graduation, I am interested in writing, mission work, and anything to do with small children. In spite of the fact that these interests are not super helpful in finding a good career, I trust that God has the right one in store for me, although I wouldn't be complaining if He would choose to reveal that to me soon. Like, right now. ;)
...which brings me to another point. I am a Christian girl who is finally beginning to feel like her faith is growing in bigger leaps then ever before. Although I hate to classify myself into one denomination, as I feel that really we shouldn't segregate like that, my beliefs tend to line up with those of Baptists. (I must clarify--I am not a dresses and skirts only type of gal, although I do believe that dressing modestly is very important).
Also, please do forgive some of my earlier posts. I have grown and changed a lot since I started this blog a little over a year and a half ago, and that is definitely reflected in my older posts. Especially the ones from Summer 2015 and back. :)
Anyway, thank you for stopping by my not-so-poetical corner of this blogging world!
Wait, I forgot to tell you---I LOVE COFFEE! There. I couldn't leave that of my about page.

  1. Hi Christine! It's Allie from stoptofindtherosies. I LOVE your blog! So well designed and I enjoy reading all your posts. I also love Show Hope and Maria's Big House of Hope. I know you mentioned that you wanted to work there someday..... So do I! {or at least somewhere in China :) }! Sometimes things sound crazy, but I had no clue that I would be able to travel to China TWICE in one year and bring home three sisters! God has done so much more then I could EVER imagine. And I'm sure He is going to use you in BIG ways. You never know, maybe we could work together in China someday :) Two girls who love God and love orphans, watch out world! Ha! And thanks for the comments on my blog, I LOVE reading them! Beep~ Allie

Show Hope's work is truly amazing, isn't it? I love it so much. :) It would be so amazing if we ended up working in China together....sounds crazy, but you never know!
Honestly, I didn't even know it was possible to bring home a child from China and then bring home two more in the same year, but I guess with God ALL things are possible.
By the way-did you get my email about guest posting for my blog? I would love to have you. :)
I was so excited to see that you're guest posting on Teens Interceding for Orphans! It's one of my favorite blogs, and I sent the owner the link to your blog. I'm glad she contacted you! :)

    1. Thank you, Kyra! It's good to hear from you. I'm surprised we're not better friends then we are. I guess we just haven't talked much. I went to your profile and saw your blog! It's great. I'm a babysitter plus our family takes care of a little girl two days a week who is from a non Christian home. We have been given permission to share the Bible with her, though, so we're trying to find good ways to do this. One of your crafts sounds like a good way to do that! I'm following you, too. :)

I will check out your blog as soon as I get the chance! I'm leaving to babysit in a few minutes, so hopefully I can later. :)

Anyway, nominated you for the Liebster Award, Christine! Don't feel pressured to do it if you don't feel up to it (or if you've already done it), but I hope you enjoy! ^^ Here's the post for you.

  9. Hi Christine! It's so awesome that you're trying to get Kyan adopted. My family is hoping to adopt our 3 foster kids by the end of this year. I love reading about others who try to make a difference in these kind of kids' lives. :)
I also understand the crazy, Christian teen. And I do admit, I am a fangirl. A big fangirl. I love all the things you mentioned, especially Doctor Who!
And I love your music! Especially Clara's theme song and Concerning Hobbits. :)
