To My Sister

To my sister,
As you enter your senior year, the closing year of the life of a life already planned out for you, I want you to know just how much you  mean to me. You are "my person". The one who will always cheer me up when I'm feeling down. The one who always reads books and discusses them with me. The one who goes on walks with me. The one that enjoys doing fancy things with  my hair. And I know that although sometimes just how much we do together gets on both of our nerves, I really wouldn't want it any other way. I love having a twin who is not really a twin, and I don't really mind it as much as I pretend to when people call me Natalie.
I miss you so much when you are gone overnight. I miss our conversations, and even just knowing you are there.
I love afternoons like last Sunday, when it's just the two of us at home and we can make popcorn and watch Harry Potter. I love staying up late at night, talking with you. I love nights like the last one, when, although I fought the idea initially, we spontaneously slept on couches in the family room and watched a little TV together before bed.
I love crying over sad movies with you. Anytime you need to talk about your heartache over the movie "Titanic", I'm here for you.
I love the memories of sharing birthday parties with you, of going places overnight together, of babysitting together.
Sister, I just wanted to leave this note to remind you how special and loved you are! I hope you never forget it. :)
I hope the days come easy and the moments pass slow
And each road leads you where you want to go
And if you’re faced with the choice and you have to choose
I hope you choose the one that means the most to you
And if one door opens to another door closed
I hope you keep on walkin’ ‘til you find the window
If it’s cold outside, show the world the warmth of your smile
But more than anything, more than anything

 My wish for you
Is that this life becomes all that you want it to
Your dreams stay big, your worries stay small
You never need to carry more than you can hold
And while you’re out there gettin’ where you’re gettin’ to
I hope you know somebody loves you
And wants the same things too
Yeah, this is my wish

I hope you never look back but you never forget
All the ones who love you
And the place you left
I hope you always forgive and you never regret
And you help somebody every chance you get
Oh, you find God’s grace in every mistake
And always give more than you take
But more than anything, yeah more than anything

[Chorus x2]

This is my wish
I hope you know somebody loves you
May all your dreams stay big
