Throwback Tuesday

I can hear you all screaming because I'm doing Throwback Tuesday instead of Thursday. I am sorry for this sacrilege! I just don't know if I'll have time for this on Thursday, so forgive me.
Anyway, I still have blogger's block right now, so I thought I'd share SEVERAL old photos with you. because I'm one of those people who, for the most part, is not too shy about sharing younger photos of myself. So here you go!

All six of my siblings and me in the fall of 2007.
Left to right: Noah, Natalie, Me, Heidi, Levi, Brandi, and Tim.

Baby Levi. Why did he have get older? :(

Papa and little Levi in 2006. I haven't seen Papa in two or three years. I miss him!

Levi and our nephew, Kyran. Partners in crime!

Natalie, our friend JoJo and me having a sleepover. Jojo and some of her family members are actually coming to stay at our house for a few days this week.

Jojo's little brother, Silas, and my middle brother Noah in the summer of 2005.

My sisters Brandi and Natalie playing with me in 2003ish. I remember when Brandi and Heidi used to play like this with us on the couch. So strange! Now they both have kids who are older than we were here.

Levi and my niece Hailee in 2013. They have both grown so much in just 2 1/2 years! I remember Hailee used to have the cutest little voice and I just found a video of her at that age. She was so funny!

Levi wearing the suit he received for his 4th birthday, all ready to attend a wedding. I loved that suit and always tried to get him to wear it to church, although he usually didn't cooperate.

My littlest brothers and me in 2013, back when they were little and cute! Haha, I still love them, but it was much easier to be patient when they were younger. I hope you understand what I mean!

My three brothers. Goodness, they were so little! But Levi's still trying to be the center of attention, so some things never change.

My nieces, Alahna and Kyla, who are just two months apart in age, at ballet. They were so cute!

The boys thought we should get these couches!
My sister Brandi and her little girl. I vividly remember this day. So sweet!

My nephew Jackson as a baby. I remember carrying him through the yard and feeding him his bottle at this age. Hard to believe he just turned four!

And that wraps up my little throwback! What do you think? Should I post another one sometime?

Fandom Friday {at Barnes and Noble}

First of all, I'm sorry that my posts are so few and far between right now. Before my break from blogging, I was overflowing with post ideas. But since then, I think I've hit that unfortunate thing called "blogger's block" which we all fear. So please bear with me as I recover and begin to find things to post again. Thank you all for being there!

Now, onwards to....

Fandom Friday!

Last week, after suffering at home with a cold for a week and a half, I was dying to get out of the house. The day before, I literally stomped around the house, nearly hitting the walls, complaining of cabin fever between coughs to my poor brother. So my mom promised to take me somewhere the next day.

Feeling in a bookish mood, I got her to take me to Barnes and Noble for the first time! My sister, Natalie, accompanied us.

It was amazing! I was already freaking out when we first stepped through the door, feeling like I could burst!
Books...books....books....
Classic books...modern books...
And then it happened....
Natalie and I stumbled across a Doctor Who display (actually three of them). Like the fangirls we are, we instantly sank to our knees and started chattering and giggling over all the items.
Eventually, I tore myself away from there, realizing prices for most of it was high, and began to look around again. I nearly bought The Book Thief, but decided to borrow it from the library instead, as I didn't have very much money with me.
Then Natalie discovered a Doctor Who book called "Dead of Winter" and we decided to split the cost and buy it.
My ear was beginning to hurt at that point, so I ended up buying a really cool Doctor Who disappearing Tardis mug and going to sit down with a Starbucks drink.

We had a wonderful time, and my mom even got some early Christmas shopping done. (I'm not supposed to know anything about what she got so we'll leave that there.)

My finds...

Dead of Winter

Doctor Who: Dead of WinterDoctor Who: Dead of Winter by James Goss
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this book! It was very captivating with great plot twists. My only complaints were that it could be a bit confusing at times, and that sometimes earlier on the characters (The Doctor, Amy, and Rory) didn't seem quiet like themselves.

Four stars! I would definitely recommend this book to my Whovian friends

View all my reviews

Natalie really enjoyed it as well, although she keeps freaking out how no matter what angle she looks at the book cover from, it appears that The Doctor continues to stare at her.. :)

Disappearing Tardis Mug

This mug is very cool! True to the title, the Tardis "disappears" when submerged in a hot drink, such as tea or coffee. The Tardis fades out from the London street it sits on (see above picture) and reappears in deep space.

Unfortunately, I don't have a picture where the Tardis is in space, but the above picture shows were it would appear.

In other news, I just finished reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and am already hooked. Are you scared yet? ;)

Happy Friday everyone! May the force be with you.

Creative Blogger Award

My sweet friend of Elisabeth from Reflections of the Heart nominated me for the Creative Blogger Award a while back. Thank you so much, Elisabeth! {She has an amazing blog by the way, so be sure to take a look!}

Rules:
Nominate 15-20 blogs and notify all nominees via their social media/blogs
Thank and post the link of the blog that nominated you
Share 5 facts about yourself with your readers

So, here are the five facts about myself. I will try to share ones that you may not know. :)

1. I'm diving right in and sharing a truth about myself that is not-so-nice. One of my major flaws is that I can be very bitter. There are a few people in my life that I'm angry with and my family KNOWS about it. I have to be careful not to say what I'm thinking and to learn to see them as God sees them, even when it's hard. One of these people is very close to my mom and I know I have hurt her when I wasn't thinking. So, yes, now you know that about me.

2. On a lighter subject, I adore BBC! {Ok, you probably do know that one!}

3. I'm reading\rereading several books at once right now.
-Revenge of the Sith by Matthew Stover
-Another Homecoming by Janette Oke and T. Davis Bunn
-Rilla of Ingleside by L.M. Montgomery
-Dead of Winter {a Doctor Who novel from the History Collection}

and, once Natalie finishes it, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by of course J.K. Rowling

4. I have never been on an airplane.

5. I listen to a WIDE variety of music, from Celtic Thunder, to Disney, to the soundtracks from my favorite movies and shows, to, at my sister's choosing, Ed Sheeran. There are lots of random songs thrown into all of that as well!

I nominate:

Clara | Reasons to Smile
Natalie | A Saved Girl's Writings
Joy | Another Enchanted Land
Kelly-Anne | Beautiful Girlhood
Simi | What's Simi Reading?
Bonnie | Bonnie's Blessings
Hannah | Grace In Everything
Kara Lynn | Saved by Grace
Mikayla | The Bubblegum Ballerina
Shelby | Every Bit of Lovely
Lauren | Loving Our Creator
Olivia | Life as a Young Lady
Bethany | Bright Life By Bethany
Susanna | PurlsByGrace
Jessica Joy | Almost Perfectly Pink
Anna McAuley | Demigods and Unicorns

Can't wait to see all of your answers! :)

Depraved Indifference

Wow....this video is a must watch.
When the speaker was talking about the little four year old boy on the side of the road, I was picturing my four year old nephew, Jackson. I was picturing him dirty, hungry, and alone, like so many children. Just heartbreaking!

I'm Back!

Hello! I've truly missed all of you during my temporary break from the blogging world. I'm excited to say I'm back! I wish I had time for a longer post, but since I'm going babysitting, I do not. But more posts are coming soon, and I will try to respond to all my comments and comment more on your blogs. :)

My Birthday

This is a bit of a late post, but my birthday was on Friday. {May 29th}. We didn't do much, but my wonderful parents took me out for dinner and then we came back and had ice cream. It was very nice!
As usual, my mom took several pictures. There were very many, but I cut down on the amount I put in this post. Most of these pictures are unedited, as PicMonkey isn't working very well for me tonight.

My wonderful sister, Natalie, did a makeover on me. I hardly ever wear makeup, but she put a little bit on, did my hair, and painted my nails. I felt like a princess!
Thank you, Natalie for taking the time to do this for me! Seriously, guys, she's great! She was very patient with my constant blinking while she was putting mascara on me and when she had to wait for me to recover from my dizzy spell from not eating much and drinking lots of coffee. :)

My amazing dad and me at dinner! As usual, his way of telling me happy birthday was to pick on me the entire evening. Haha! :)

This restraunt had the BEST root beer I've ever tasted! I drank it way faster than I should have...:)

My equally amazing mother and me. I love you, Mom!

When we got back, my siblings were waiting for me with ice cream, topped with sprinkles!
It was delicious, although by the time I actually ate it, it was almost melted. XD
{I've got stop here and tell you that when my brother saw this picture just now he started freaking out. Apparently, he would like to have some again. }

This picture pretty much sums up my brother, Tim, the one in the striped red shirt.

I got this wonderful backpack! I love it. It will certainly come in handy when I start going to a Christian school two days a week in the fall. :)

and guess what was inside?
Yep! Downton Abbey season five. Totally didn't see that coming!

On a completely unrelated note, this is what my sister wrote on the blackboard in our dining room! Isn't it awesome? ;)

Well, I'm off to drink hot cocoa {Once Upon a Time style, with cinnamon on top!} and watch Star Wars.
Wishing you a peaceful evening,

Wonderful Blog Designers

Hello everyone! I hope you're having a wonderful day. :)

In the nearly seven months this blog has been running, I have discovered many wonderful blog designers. And, get this...many of them do it for free or for extremely cheap!
When I find a new designer, I usually tuck away the information somewhere in my brain for future reference, unless I currently need a new design.
But recently, I thought that some of you might like to know about these designers, too! So I decided to make a list for you. If I find any more designers, I will be sure to add them to the list, too. :)

Creating a Masterpiece
designedbybritt.blogspot.com

Brittney is a wonderful designer! She did my first blog design. {Click here to see what it looked like.}
Brittney's designs are free.

Mahnoor Apple Designs
mahnoorappledesigns.blogspot.com

I don't have any personal experience with Mahnoor Apple Designs, but from what I can see, the designs are beautiful and the customers satisfied! I would love to order a design someday. Designs are free. :)

CeCe Designs
cece-designs.blogspot.com

Celia is a wonderful free designer! All of her clients have been very happy with the outcome. She designed a blog button for my "Help Kyan Get Adopted" page and did a wonderful job. She is fast to respond and easy to work with.

Twenty-One Designs
twenty-onedesigns.blogspot.com

Twenty-One designs is a popular free design site made up of a team of bloggers. Although I have no personal experience with their services, I have loved many of the designs I have seen done by them and all of their customers seem to be very pleased with their designs.

Spunky Designs
spunky-designs.blogspot.com

I honestly don't know much about Spunky Designs, but Hannah's portfolio looks nice and her designs are free! Perhaps you could give her a shot. :)

A Little Bit of Sunshine's Custom Blog Designs
alittlebitofsunshineblog.com/p/blogging-helper

Again, I have no personal experience with Noor's work, but I can tell from her blog she is good at coding and would do a wonderful job! Her designs are free.

Morning's Designs
theworldthroughmywindowsill.blogspot.com/p/mornings-summer-designs.html

Morning is an amazing designer! Her designs are free. She designed my other blog, If We Love Him, and I was very pleased with the outcome. Although Morning is not currently taking orders, she may reopen in the future. I will let you know if she does!

Tane Hannah Designs
tanehannah-designs.blogspot.com

I have loved all of the designs I have seen done by Tane Hannah Designs! They are all gorgeous. Like Morning, however, orders are not currently being taken. In the future, that will probably change. So definitely keep an eye on Tane Hannah Designs!

Nicole Rose Designs
design.selfknownblog.com

I have seen some beautiful designs by Nicole Rose! She does a wonderful job.:) Her custom designs do cost money. However, she also makes free templates. Go take a look!

Maddy's Blog Buttons
maddysdigitaldiary.wordpress.com/blog-button-anyone/

My friend Maddy just started making and selling blog buttons for five dollars each. Go take a look! I'm sure she would love to receive your order. :)

Mellow Designs
mellowblogdesigns.blogspot.com

Mellow Designs has a very nice portfolio and some wonderful reviews! Designs cost money but are very cheap. I'm sure you would be very happy with your order from Mellow Designs!

and now, I've saved one of my favorites for last!

Eve's Garden of Designs
evesgardenofdesigns.com

I love Eve's designs so much! She does an amazing job. She did my current blog design and was so good about taking it slow and really understanding my vision. She is extremely talented (as are all of these designers!) and also an amazing person.
Eve's designs do cost money, but I found mine to be well worth it. They are very cheap for all that she does. She also has some beautiful templates for less money that you may find to be perfect for your blog.

And there you have it! I hope this post helped you and will be a good resource for you. :)
Feel free to tell me in the comments if you know any other designers I could add to the list, be it you or someone else.
